Michigan looked clumsy in the first half, but managed a slight lead. Penn State tied it up, but the Wolverines overpowered them in the end.

Michigan is fighting for respect once again. After a 7-0 start they lost to their instate rival, Michigan State. Now at 8-1, they must beat Penn State to prove the first 7 wins had any meaning.

Penn State lost 3 in a row before beating Maryland. For two weeks they were ranked #4 and fighting for a playoff bid, but since have fallen out of CFP rankings.
