10 Things to do when the College Football Season is Over

The National Championship is over. Congratulations to the Indiana Hoosiers, by the way. You might try to comfort yourself by declaring, “There is no off season!” Even though, this weekend, not a single college team is playing because the season has “come to a conclusion.” You could stand around asking, “What happened?” like Ryan Day after losing to Michigan. Or you could use that google machine that Cignetti keeps talking about.

If those options aren’t appealing, try one of these. Here’s 10 suggestions on what to do when the College Football season is over.

10. Plan a weekend getaway. You can do that now because the holidays are over and there’s nothing to get in the way of football. Also, there’s no football.

9. Read a book. You would not believe how many sports writers have written books about football. Football games that ended a long time ago. A long, long time ago.

8. Organize your Garage. Okay, I admit, this one is a stretch. Did you know some people can actually park their cars in their garage? What are they, communists?

7. Start a YouTube channel. If you can get your son to co-host on the channel, it counts as family time.

6. Post your “We would’ve won that game if…” takes on social media. It doesn’t even matter what the “if” is because the game is over. It’s OVER, man.

5. Pretend you care about basketball.

4. Invent conspiracy theories about the transfer portal. Your team missed out on a 5 star? Is that because State cheated?

3. Build Depth Charts. The spring game is three months away. The roster is incomplete. QB1 hasn’t even been announced. But what else are you going to do? Exercise?

2. Argue online with rivals who also need hobbies. Of course you did this all season long, but how else are you going to avoid talking to your wife? Or your husband, I guess.

1. Watch an NFL game. It’s like college football, but more aggravating because your coach thinks 4th and 1 is a strategy. Plus, the NFL season ends in mid-January anyway.

Bonus. Re-Watch highlights from 2023. The last real College Football National Championship!

Now go out there and shout to the world, “Next year will be different!” It’s a lie. You know. I know it. Don’t let the fact your team has the same coach, staff, and D-Line as last year stop you from believing. NEVER. STOP. BELIEVING.
